I loved it, but just felt that because it is MIT, the cost should have been free! or much less! But will gladly go again as was a fantastic place!

Not what it could be
By d k, 09/02/06
The MIT museum has some good displays, particularly the exhibit on small mechanical contrivances. The hologram exhibit is very disappointing - small, unrepresentative of the important MIT work done by Steve Benton, and with at least one burned out light source when I went. Having to climb stairs from street level make the place look like a forgotten afterthought by what is supposed to be one of the USA's prime universities.

Afternoon well spent

This is a small museum with quite a few hands on exhibits. It was interesting to see how clunky the early robots were and how the strobe light came into being. The whimsical mechanical room was delightful.
