this is the worst layout i have ever played, 300 yrd par 4's and a 250 psr 3, that almost always plays dead into the wind, driver doesnt even get there. there are two 430 par fours back to back that are extremly difficult to hit in rregulation. the greens are tiny. all around its in horrible shape and worse than that is the layout, i only play ...

Reasonably Priced & Friendly Staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/28/09
When we went to this restaurant we had planned to eat in the 19th Hole Pub. It was a beautiful evening and there was a DJ playing on the veranda The staff was extremely friendly and told us we could sit outside and still order from the pub menu. It was reasonably priced pub food and my husband loved the steak tips. Next time I will try the dining room menu.

Dining Experience is Seriously Questionable
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/20/09
The amount of money the members put into the place for them to become a member kind of makes me wonder if the staff truly care about them. The amount of food that you get is not enough for the price that they are paying for. Some prices are reasonable. Whether you are a member or not or being the first time being in there....Buyers BEWARE. If you ...
Love this old style course with its blind shots and crowned greens. Of course, when playing for the first time like I was today it is very helpful to be with locals. Greens were in great shape. Will definetely go back again.

"Horrible" Off the Mark
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/18/08
I think Mr. Horrible must have played on 09/07/08, not 09/08/08 because the greens were absolutely cut on 09/08. I asked around and on 09/07 they weren't cut due recent aeration and topdressing accompanied by an unforeseen circumstance that prohibited mowing. Granted, that is not the player's problem. It's not an exuse, just an ...

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/08/08
Golfed at Beverly today. Quite posbbily the worst course I have ever played. The greens were unusable, uncut and the amount of sand placed on the greens made it seem like we were putting on a beach...only with less predictability than the beach. The boulders are rediculous, broke a shaft on my nine iron when hitting a shot from the fairway!! ...

many positive changes
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/04/08
A new management company has taken over the club, and in just a few short months the changes are remarkable. The course is in great shape, with many improvements. It has always had the reputation of being one of the most challenging courses on the north shore. It is once again turning into a beautiful course. The staff is great, the 19th Hole a ...
Sounds like the people complaining are best friends with Scanlon and Coughlin, who are best friends with the old management company and are doing their best to get rid of Johnson. How do you know where Johnson gets their product from? Are you there to golf, or piss and moan? Your complaints are too transparent, and you sound too much like you just ...

What a Shame!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/07
I echo all of the other negative reviews. Any reviews that are positive have to be Johnson employees or they are just blind. This used to be one of the best courses around. Since Johnson Management took over it has become a very last resort for my friends and I to play. I can't begin to tell you how many golfers have the same negative ...

They Should Pay You to Play There
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/10/07
The course has been in horrible shape ever since Johnson Golf Management took over. The only complaint I ever had about the pre-Johnson era was that I couldn't get a tee time because it was so busy. Now its wide open all the time because no one wants to waste their money. Johnson wrote the book on how to destroy golf courses. The Beverly city ...
