My boyfriend and I have been here several times and it has become one of our favorites. The atmopshere is relaxed and the service excellent. We have been for lunch several times and have had the same waitress who always remembers us and is more then happy to make a recommendation. We have tried several items on the menu and the food is excellent. We will certainly return.

Nothing French about it but the arrogance
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/08
Food, very mediocre. Prices very disproportioante to quality. It's a meal. I'd just as soon have a meal without the attitude.
To be specific: Caesar salad, which is not a French dish anyway, no anchovy was ever involved in the dressing. Romaine was cut up - if not left whole, it should be torn. No olive oil has kissd this salad, ...

Realistic expectations/Stupid Americans
By zack.duck, 08/01/08
I've read the reviews about the poor service, I think when one visits this sort of restaurant they should expect French style service, rather than that hurry up and eat American way. Its really too bad that you all don't have the time to treat yourself to a nice relaxed dinner. Servers here are expected to allow you to take you time. Do ...

don't eat here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/08
The food is not worth the price, the tables are cramped, and music from the kitchen can be heard blasting into the dining room during the dinner service. I will never eat at this restaurant again. Les Follies on Riva Rd. in Annapolis is a far better French restaurant.

Steak au Poivre
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/07
So how can one wrongly interpret a classic steak au poivre steak? Although this restaurant serves a really nice steak, what they serve for their steak au poivre sauce is not the fare served in classic European restaurants, in Cafe Normandie's case, a perfect steak is smothered with crushed peppers in some commercial brown sauce, not even ...

Poor Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/07
Ambiance is nice.... Food was fairly good although portions were not ample.... Service was exceptionally slow and mostly oblivious to patrons.... Similarly, Management is callous and capricious.... Prices are inflated beyond quality of offerings.
There are much better places to dine in Annapolis than at a restaurant that could care less about return customers.

Wonderful Food - Wonderful Time!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/14/06
My wife and I have been visiting Annapolis for years, typically 2-3 visits per year. Our most recent visit was for my wife's birthday in August, and we went to Cafe Normandie - her choice.
We had a spectacular dinner. We had soup, seafood, and Duck. The food was extraordinary. Our waitress was perfect; attentive, not too chatty, yet ...
