Always a cozy place to eat. A local hang out. Very cozy and the food rocks! We have also had take out and it was as good as eating in but or course without the charm. A must go if you love sushi and are from out of town. Right on the main street in Downtown Annapolis, MD.

Excellent place for sushi!
By Momo, 08/19/07
I loved this little place in Annapolis. If any of you have been to Hawaii or like poke, you will understand. There aren't too many sushi places outside of HI that serve, or even know what poke is. Joss Cafe, however both knows and serves it. Poke is usually raw tuna marinated with a little soy sauce and mixed with onions, inamona(kukoi ...

My favorite!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/07
I have been going to Joss for about 10 years now, and every experience has been amazing. Joss truly has the best sushi for a reasonable price than anywhere else i have ever been. My favorite starter is the spring roll and favorite sushi is the rainbow roll!!

Took my korean friends there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/07
Took my Korean friends there that are Sushi Experts! There families have owned many restaurants. I have gone to parties they had in Hawaii where the fish was caught that morning and all the food was awesome! When they came to visit me I knew just where to take then in Annapolis! As they kept ordering and ordering and ordering, I knew just like me ...

Well worth the wait
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/06
I was in Joss awhile ago standing in line (because it does not accept reservations). I heard a frustrated person complain that he should have gone to a chain Japanese steakhouse for sushi because the sushi was "really good" there. I was tempted to tell him that Joss is much better than that and definitely worth the wait. I was in ...

Still the best sushi in Annapolis
By johnvanore, 10/23/06
Of the growing number of restaurants in Annapolis that offer sushi as a significant portion of the menu, Joss clearly remains head and shoulders above the competition. Impeccably fresh fish, an excellent variety and an imaginative flair for combinations in their rolls are just some of the things that take me back to Joss again and again.
Joss ...

Great food, tight spaces like everyone else has said
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/06
I concur with what everyone else has said. The food is fantastic. Very finely prepared sushi and pretty close quarters. Even though it's small, the restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated.

tiny, cramped, and delicious
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/06
This place serves the best and freshest sushi I have found in the Annapolis area (I work locally). No matter how often I complain about how cramped it is (you touch shoulders with the guy in the seat beside you...at the next table!), I am a die-hard fan, and go nowhere else. I love the sushi and the service - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Best Sushi You'll Ever Have
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/06
I travel around the U.S. on business and always try to find the best sushi places I can find, but none compare to Joss. To give you an idea of how good they are, one cold and rainy Sunday while in Annapolis, my wife and I were looking forward to lunch there. When we walked up, there were people standing in the rain to enjoy their sushi. The only ...

Awesome place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/06
The wait was long because there is limited seating, but the food more than made up for it. Plan on 40$ for two people if you plan on sampling sushi rolls.
I would recommend their eel selections - mmm mmm good. Go here if you're close to Annapolis and want a great place to have sushi. Comfortable enviornment (save the line to wait for a table) and friendly staff.
