I had a recent repair done on a set of race wheels. Pretty routine work that was guaranteed to be completed in 2 days which was reasonable. After picking up the wheels 1 week later, I was simply told "things go busy". Not only that, I had to take the wheels back (to another shop) 3 days later to complete the repair. Im not accustomed ...
The fact that the owner of this so called 'bike shop' is writing reviews, and admitting to it...what a joke. Talk about "stuffing the ballot". The arogance in this place is absolutely rank. With shotty mechanical work, this isn't the place you want to be. Hope this helps some would be victims.
In order to balance some of the less favorable reviews of our bike shop, Cape-Able, I've decided to take it upon myself to write what I believe to be accurate customer testimony. Therefore, I ask that you disregard any and all negative reviews and ONLY regard the ones myself, my staff and family have written. Thank you for your time and continue shopping at Cape-Able bike shop for you every bicycle need.
There is quite the paradox with Cape-Able...high end (full price) bikes, poorly complemented with inexperienced teenage mechanics. Not a good combination. Unfortunately, when my buddy and I stopped through during a ride for a tweaked rear der., a simple cable adjustment soon became stripped threads on his permanent der. hanger after they cross ...
Make sure you get your bike back before evaluating this "shop". I should have taken a picture to unequivacally prove the bike was in worse shape when I picked it up nearly 2 weeks later. Once Cape-Able got their money, they seemed not to care the least about my husband or his bike. I was shocked at their outright rudeness. Be VERY careful about bringing your bike here.
My family was in town for the weekend of July fourth, and we rented bikes from Cape Able. We had no idea that they had a bike rental shop right in dock square. We rented beach cruisers, did some quick shopping in town, then rode to the beach. We rented bikes again the next day and rode up the coast, Cape Able even gave us suggestions on where to ride. Thanks Guys!
During my recent visit to southern Maine, including Kennebunkport, I stumbled upon Cape Able bike shop. It was like most other shops at first, then we got to talking, and I was taken aback. I felt like car salesmen had taken over a bike shop. On top of that, they repeatedly encouraged me to write a positive review for them on Yahoo. Well guys, here's your review!
I have no dislikes at all. I have bought my last three bikes here. I have had excellent service from all the staff especially the boss. They are all extremely knowledgable about bikes and always willing to answer questions, do checkups and repairs at short notice.
After being told bt several friends Cape-Able was the only place to buy a bike I made the plunge. I just picked up my new Cannondale and I could not be happier. Friendly staff, great selection and what a fun store. They took their time and made sure it was the right bike for me. Thanks again guys, Beth
