Food was bad and uninspired: everything's either deep fried or comes straight from a bag. Salad's are extremely simple. Service was bad. Starters came at the same time as our entrees. Some of the staff didn't speak English. Only good thing is the view. And o yeah, all plates and knives and forks etc are plastic! Toilets are dirty: doorknob was broken. Extremely overrated and way too expensive. Very disappointing.

Great food. Try the fried haddock or shrimp, and the lobster roll. Number 1 or 2
restaurant in area. Service was fast and courteous. Restaurant has wonderful full view of bay. A great menu.

Food was wonderful in this shanty right on the bay. Open air dining and casual atmosphere. Prices were a little high but not out of keeping with the Bar harbor area.

We went to the Downtown restaurant of Stewman's and if you want to eat lobster in an authentic Maine type atmosphere with the knotty pine paneling and view of Frenchman's Bay, this is the place to go. They serve their down east dinner's in the big black pots with the white speckles, and everything else is plastic and paper. Service was friendly and the hamburgers are great, as well as the lobster rolls.

We dined at the Main Street location near the boat docks because they give a discount with tickets from the whale watch cruise. The views are excellent-- right on the water.
