We took a two year old who loved the place. By steering him to age appropriate areas, he found it fascinating not frustrating. Some exhibits key on well known books for toddlers; throughout the museum reading is encouraged. Hats off to the organization that keeps it all fresh and stimulating

The most thing of Maine discovery museum is that there wasn't alot of inmormation on pages about it so i thought it was good but it wasn't because there wasn't much to do!

Tons of fun, educational, and CLEAN!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/09
I live an hour away from Bangor and I am very much considering a membership! It is a lot of fun for the kids and adults. There are seating areas in each room, bathrooms on every floor, and easy elevator access to each floor making it easy to tote around an infant in a stroller. A great "snack area". Educational and fun for all. Very impressed by the cleanliness!! They also have scheduled activites every day.

You'll never want to leave

Upon first arriving you think...this place is only one floor? Think again though... I couldn't get the kids to leave and actually I didn't want to leave myself!

Great Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/06
This is our 2nd time to the Bangor area & both times we made sure to visit here. My children (ages 9 & 4) love it here.
I would say 9/10 is probably as old as you would want a child to be - but anyone 10 & under will love it.
Great interactive displays, lots of variety. The staff is super friendly, informative & helpful. ...
