The Meat has very little Flavor. Good BBQ is in the Meat. The Sauce is OK. I would eat at this place if I was hungry enough. But Jay's is not a 'Destination Barbeque' Spot!

First time to try Jay's BBQ today. Found the size of Chopped BBQ Beef sandwich very small and not much meat on it for the price. It was more like an appetizer than a lunch size sandwich. The taste was good, but I was still hungry after I consumed it in about 4 bites!

I make this my one place I have to go every time I'm in Baton Rouge. The food and the service are both the best around.

The staff is extremely friendly! The food is consistently delicious. I've eaten at Jay's for nearly 50 years and I'm not much older than that. A tradition for Baton Rouge.

I love Jays BBQ! I grew up in BR and my Mom still lives there. When I go to visit I stop at Jay's before I get to my Mom's!
My favorite is the ham poboy and the fried okra. Yum!
The people are the nicest ever!
