Place is dirty, service is AWFUL, waitstaff seem distracted, and the food was cold and not impressive.
What has happened to this once great place?

We have been going to TJ's for years, so we don't know what happened to the place. We took a group in yesterday. Four people got their prime rib sandwiches, then got their fries after they were finished eating. One lady got her side orders, then got her entree after everyone else was finished. One person's salad came out after everyone ...

I've eaten ribs all over the country and can say without reservation that TJ's baby backs are at the top of the pack! I compare all other ribs to those at TJ's... And the Tiger memorabilia is awesome...
Also, if you're in the Chicago area, TJ has a rib joint next to his Ruth's Chris on Dearborn... Same ribs, different ambiance...

I love good dry rub, smoked ribs and eat ribs all over the country looking for the best. TJ's does both braised (babybacks and "Special") and smoked, "Memphis Style". Their smoked ribs are definitely in the top 10% of my 100's of rib outings across the nation. Sides are good but not outstanding, though the red beans and rice are getting up there.

If you are a rib person, try TJ's when you are in Baton Rouge.

I love the food service and everything about the restaurant. Mt experience was wonderful. If you are a big LSU fan that is the place to be.

I travel to Baton Rouge at least once a month from RI. The food is very good at TJ-RIBS. The only issue I have seen is that the temperature of the meal is to low. Heat it up TJ.
