I have been to many Zoos around the country, including San Diego. Rolling Hills rates up there with the best. It is a well thought out, with beautiful landscaping, and great variety of exotic animals. It will impress you.
There was a great variety of animals especially rare animals, but I couldn't help but think that many of those animals were rejected from all other places and had problems. Case in point: The very first animals we saw were the chimpanzees which were much larger and more aggressive than the chimps you may be used to. They put on such an ...
The giraffe feedings were awesome! We also got to see the lions get fed and got a little education about them. We would like to see the zoo give out feeding schedules and educational talks so we could see more of them. They have a great, affordable restaurant on the site and you get a lot of food for your money-- not overpriced junk. We could ...

It might be a little on the small side, but it is very nice & very well laid out. A great place to see endangered species and gain a greater appreciation for our role in saving them. A must see while in the area.
We took our 3-yr old granddaughter and the reason we decided to visit the zoo was because of the Pumpkin PaZooLa event (October 13, 2007). And we are glad we went. I think it was just a tad expensive. The exhibits were nicely arranged and well kept though. The park was very pretty. The museum was entertaining but only took about 15 minutes. If you are in the area it is nice to stop in and see, but not worth going out of your way for.
I'm not trying to be a bias native here but this place is worth a drive to see. The owner, Charlie Walker, has devoted a huge amount of resources to make the zoo what it is today and he continues to expand making it better on the time. I feel privileged to have such a fine facility in my county.

The Refuge Is an awesome place to go. You could spend all day and not run out of something to do. A must see if your in Salina. Want to spend the day at the park Why not spend it in a African Safari themed park. The grounds are beautiful and well laid out. Trust me you won't have any complaints when you leave. Anteaters to Rhino's it's all there.
