A Must See
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/05/07
The $th street elevator, as it is known by locals, is a must experience, It is the shortest and steepest railroad in the U.S. I have been going there since I was a kid. Even though I no longer live in Dubuque, I still make a point to take a ride every time I come home to Visit.
At first we weren't amused with the actual cable cars--the "seats" we uncomfortable and it looks like it needs to be repaired. However, after reaching the top and seeing the view it was worth it. It's just a neat, unique, sight see.

#1 Attraction in DBQ? Spare me.

There's nothing to dislike about The Elevator, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it again. Dubuque's a nice city. We usually go two or three times a year. Visit the Eagle Ridge Park that's along the river - it's a wonderful view. The greyhound park is nice too.
