Wonderful atmosphere for a getaway! Friendly, cordial environment with quaint shopping and a very nice variety of restaurants. A town with an interesting history involving the stay of a US President and several other dignitaries. You need to do this at least once.

excellent location. It was very clean, and comfortable. Having a coffee pot in the room was a bonus, along with the complimentary bottled water. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Being able to park your car and walk without having to motor was very nice. Everything is within walking distance to the DeSoto.

That said, the Desoto House Hotel is probably not the place to bring the kids. However, if you and your significant other ...
was just not what i read about. food at the generals restaurant was just above bad. service was next to non-existant. and the sorry thing was that there was only eight people in the whole place. never go there again.
