When you have the Elgin Symphony Orchestra... every concert offers great music whether you've heard of it before or not, it's not expensive, all the musicians are first-rate Chicago-area musicians, FREE parking and hardly a walk from your car, and they are extremely friendly and actually treat you as a person rather than just one out of a zillion audience members... you also don't have to take a day off of work to drive into the city!

We went to the Holiday show last Christmas. Instead of having people as dancing swans and other "Christmaslike" characters, they had circus acts performing with the Holiday songs. I wont go again.

An excellent symphony orchestra. Often has interesting guest artists and conductors. The level of musicianship is top notch. They can play anything and lack nothing musically speaking. The venue is not as grand as Orchestra Hall in Chicago, ofcourse, but then the smaller venue makes for an excellent connection with the audience. I Have seen this ...
