A thoughtful, experiential approach to sailing with few "skull" sessions and lots of sailing time. Experienced and patient instructors who love the sport. Highly recommend it.

Lanier Sailing Academy has both a sailing school and a sailing club. Once you learn how to sail (at their school or somewhere else), you can join the club. I learned to sail there and then became a member of the club (about 5 years ago). You pay a one-time initiation fee and then a very reasonable monthly fee to use their variety of sail boats ...

Very nice group of people. Always greet you like long lost friends. Lots of great times both on the water and at the dock. Excellent value compared to boat ownership.
About 7 years ago, I had a midlife-crises. (Of course, nowadays? We're allowed a LOT of those, since we don't know what 'mid-life' is!) So. I took it upon myself to learn to sail. Four weekends, come rain or shine, I was there. Tying knots, learning 'red-right-return' and all those NON land-lubber things. LOVED it. LOVED ...
