  • Tlhe glass is half full
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/01/08
I am not a great golfer. When people ask me if I play golf I reply, "I have golf clubs, a glove, and a hat". I slice, I hook, but I can putt pretty straight.

The staff is very friendly and professional. This course is great for inexperienced golfers. No pressure. A very relaxed environment. A great place to learn the game of golf ...

  • NEW OWNDERSHIP AWFUL
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/04/08
Give me a break....same old Green Hills...or as I call it, Brown Hills. The new ownership and new name mean nothing! This place is horrible.....golf is NO FUN when you play out here....

The greens are like regular grass...tee boxes are VERY hard! Idiots working at the course...idiots running the course...and rednecks who have no idea what they are ...

  • You ain't seen bad!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/05/07
I have been to Green Hills for over 20 years;but, only golfing there for 11 years off and on. Considering how this course used to look and how the new owners are really trying to make much needed repairs I will be excited to see how the next 6 to 12 months turn out. Last summer was the 1st. summer that I could remember seeing the course green ...

  • Rude local golfers ruin the fun.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/23/06
From the time we pulled into the (dirt) parking lot until the time we left, this was the worst golf experience I've ever had. Rude little old men local golfers with no concept of etiquette, the food offerings at the turn consisted of truck stop pre-packaged sandwiches and a vending machine (seriously, not even a water fountain), the tee boxes ...

  • On the upswing...
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/22/06
For those of you (see below) who read all of the reviews on this page, it is important to note that the new owners of this course are working hard to make the necessary improvements needed to create a wonderful course. I am excited to see this course evolve.

I enjoy taking my 7 year old son out on this course and working on the fundamentals ...

  • "A" for Effort
    By deesenyoutees, 05/15/06
I avoided this course like the plague for ten years after I played there a few times in the early 90s. This was back in the "Green Hills" days.

While this course is far from perfect now, the improvements have been tremendous. Now the fairways have grass, the greens are improving, and the overall experience is much better.

    To be ...

  • are you kidding me?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/04/06
The tee boxes are unlevel, the fairways are pretty bad and the greens are often more dirt than grass. I saw one person write that this course is like Augusta National... but only if Augusta National had a (large) nuclear bomb dropped on it. Yeah, Green Hills is pretty cheap, but if you're under 24 you can pay your age at Sandy Creek golf ...

  • Is this a golf course?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/08/06
SO I went to this dump yesterday and really was not sure I was even at a golf course. If it wasnt for people holding clubs, I would of thought it was just grass that needed to be cut. Basically, fairways and ruff look the same. The greens are the worst I have ever seen. The only good thing is they have beer. If it wasnt for that, my 18 holes of ...

Green Hills is a slice of apple pie after fighting through the onion soup fest that is Athens and North Oconee. The landscape is spectacular and if you make up a random club member number, you can play for free! If you are playing Green Hills as opposed to Jennings Mill, ACC, Sunset Hills, Eagles Nest, Lane Creek, Georgia Club, or UGA then you probably aren't much of a golfer anyways.

  • I can't wait to see what happens!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/12/05
The atomosphere at the club is exciting, anticipating the changes. Green Hills is now a "work in progress" as the new Creekside Country Club! The club will remain open during renovations and golfers should be pleased to see the continuous progress as Creekside moves forward.
