Kanapaha is a very lovely natural gardens...I've visited at all seasons and there are always a wide variety of plants to see - 62-acres of great walks.

The water gardens are very interesting; the hummingbird and butterfly gardens generally have blooming flowers; the rock gardens have such unusual plants for dry areas; the herb garden is ...

We chose the gardens for a birthday picnic in February. DEAD! DEAD! DEAD! The only colors in the garden were some planted pansies in the hummingbird garden other than the artificial flowers in the visitors center. The bamboo was green, however, and relaxing.

If you just want to relax in the Florida weather, or just to enjoy nature. I would personally recommend the Bamboo section of the park.

  • Worthy of a day trip
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/16/05
We often like to take day trips with a 2-3 hour drive time from home. So, without a lot of prior planning we found Kanapaha listed on the web. It was worth the drive. The entrance was well marked and Kanapaha's staff was very friendly. The different garden areas were interesting; bamboo, butterfly garden, water features, etc. You must see the amazing pelican vine when it is in bloom!

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens is a wonderful place for the whole family. You should never do drugs when you go here or you will have many flashbacks about your past life as a russian working girl. Sorry, Dakota made me say that..the flowers are great...wooohooo..yeah!
