if you are looking to take a romantic walk on the beach or you just want to get away by yourself and listen to the therapeutic sounds of the birds and the waves washing ashore, this place is just right for you. But first let me tell you that address on here is wrong it should be:

It was the first time I had been to Florida. It's quite different from the beaches in CA. I thought it was so beautiful with the white sand. Only a few people there. It was lovely walking thru the water. I miss it already!

beautiful beaches, clean, as well as restrooms. Loved the pet beach and since park closes at sunset, times do vary throughout the year. Excellent trail, pine flatwoods and wildlife viewing opportunities. Love the history and the nature center too!!
This was an aweswome state park. The beach was clean, there were very few people crowding the beach and the atmosphere was very natural. My kids got to pick up shells and jump in the water and run around and have fun. The price to get on the island was very reasonable too...I think it was around $5. The only think I would like to see is maybe an enclosed shower so you can clean up on your way out...
Having been to several beaches on both coasts of Florida, in the Bahahas, Haiti, the Domincan Republic, the Grand Caymans, Jamaica, Mexico, Costa Rica, Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Martin, Puerto Rico and others, I still find that Honeymoon Island is defintely in the top ten for atmosphere and cleanliness especially. It is worth it to pay admission for ...

first visit to florida

loved the water, watching all the wildlife. walking down the beach, shell hunting. loved watching the dolphins play every day in the ocean.the people were very friendly, almost like being back in ky.
Someone else complained about rocks on the beach. Rocks are primarily on the beaches farther from the entrance. This beautiful beach has great sand, little or no trash, does not get overcrowded and the small cafe even serves pancakes for breakfast on either Sat or Sun (maybe both, I can't remember.) You have to pay, but you get a cleaner, less ...

This beach is great! I have 2 small children and they loved Honeymoon Island much better than Clearwater Beach. This is my "happy place" The bathrooms were clean, the beach was not overcrowded, everything was pristine. It was so relaxing we could have floated away to Mexico, can't wait to go back!

Quiet beach for long walks
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/05
Visited the island on 1/27/05 it was windy that day, but nice. The people were friendly and the place is HUGE! Soft sand and shells galore! Lots of benches to sit allong the beach and they have a little gift shop that serves hot dogs and burgers if you like. The Onion rings are great! Didn't get to take the ferry, I'll save that for another trip. The park closes at 6:30, so those night walks are out of the question.
