We went there on a beautiful sunny winter morning. We had a group of 12 and so, were entitled for the group rate ($14.50 per head) with in-advance reservation. We visited Beluga and Sea Lion areas during the feeding time and that was terrific !! make sure to visit them during feeding times. Rest of the "exhibits" (errrr... I mean life) is ...

Total rip-off

Admission to the Aquarium is very expensive and to add insult to injury, the most heavily advertised exhibits, such as the whale and penguin programs, require an additional hefty fee. There is very little for young children to do. The staff, where there is any staff, is most unhelpful. What a disappointment!

Aquarium?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/06/07
Seemed overpriced for the amount of features. I have visited other aquariums at various places in TN, FL & GA. These provide much more site seeing than Mystic. In addition, it was very crowded on our visit and very difficult to get around with a stroller.

Simply Marvelous!!!!!!

There is absolute nothing to dislike about Mystic Aquarium. The place is very well organized, clean, safe and there are many attractions.
The food and the gift shops are very nice and the workers are very helpful and very polite.
Mystic Aquarium is not only an attraction place, it is also an educational place where a person can learn a lot.
We have been to several aquariums around the United States. We enjoyed the one in Mystic, but thought it was a bit pricey for what you saw. The touch pool and the Sting rsy tank were great. My son and mother were able to pet two and they came right up to them and stuck their heads out of the water to be petted. The whales and penguins were great. If you go in the summer be sure to bring sunscreen and lots of water to drink!
I thought it was rather pricy for what you actually get. You can get your pictures taken and then later buy them which is a great feature for families. Don't hesitate to ask others to take a group photo for them and they will do the same for you and you'll save the $20!!! Beluga whales were great! We watched them train and be fed! When ...
We loved this place. It was a great experience for our children. We got to see many things we don't have at our local zoo aquarium (in Ohio) since we lost our Sea World in Aurora. It's not exactly Sea World, but I could have sat there all day watching the Belugas. The children loved the sea lion show and touching the rays. Something for everyone, but a bit pricey. The admission was twice what we paid at Mystic Seaport.
I am an aquarium member so I have free admission and visit every time I am in Mystic. I love to watch the belugas and this is the only place in the Northeast to see them. The aquarium offers encounter programs with belugas and penguins. Although these can be pricey, there are plenty of free encounters such as the ray touch pool and opportunities ...

Disappointment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/02/07
We visited the Aquarium on March 31, 2007 and were disappointed. We thought the Aquarium would be far larger than what we found. It took just about two hours to see everything. The only real interesting exhibits are in Challenge of the Deep, which has the PT 109 and Titanic exhibits.

it has a lot of historic stuff in it for the kids and parents to enjoy. it is good for school trips but not big school trips. like 30 students at a time. It is very popular and usually crowded.
