OverpricedSome nice and unusual wines, but such a pompous owner. Go when he isn't there, know what you like and don't give in to the high prices. You can walk away with a nice wine and a fair price if you're lucky.OVERALL

Excellent Variety, Excellent Expertise, Excellent Prices, Excellent ServiceCasa Bacchus is my preferred wine shop. They have never steered me wrong. All the wines I purchase are roughly $15.00 per bottle or less, and they are all excellent wines. I've tasted expensive wines. Some I liked, some I didn't. Quality AND varietyCasa Bacchus is physically not a very large wine shop, which is why I am always so impressed by the variety of their stock - and the staffs' knowledge of their products. Everything you need to in a wine shop.I drive 25 miles to Litchfield when I need wine. Chris Jeans, the owner, turns buying a bottle of wine from a purchase to a enjoyable lesson on wine. Low ceilings and high prices.Litchfield is a great destination and one store not to miss in the quaint downtown district is the wine store Casa Bachuss. although the shop appears to be very small it is packed with wine, most of which is priced for the casual and unsuspecting tourist. The tiny space is filled with many expensive and interesting looking wines.

I travel 25 miles everytimeWhen my wine fridge gets low I travel 25 miles to Litchfield CT to my favorite wine shop Casa Bacchus. Chris the proprietor knows a great deal about wine and turns buying wine from a simple purchase into a journey through the land where the wine came from and how it was made and especially what to expect when you drink it.
