  • Come she how Harriet lived in Hartford!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/05
I enjoyed learning how Harriet Beecher Stowe assumed a new role for women as a writer. With her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin, she convinced Northerners about the evils of slavery. I saw how she lived in Hartford after she became famous. There, she enjoyed gardening and socializing with her neighbors, including Mark Twain. Her gardens still exist and are quite lovely.
