Small

The stage was really small. Too small to really enjoy the musical. This isn't a great place for Broadway musicals that need a lot of space on stage to use the effects and scenery succesfully. Also, volume needs to be turned up!
The theatre is beautiful, I'll give it that. The stage however, is horridly small. We went to see "The Lion King" on tour at the Pantages and it was the most dissapointing experience ever. Beautifully preserved, the Pantages recalls the Hollywood heyday of the 40s and 50s. They don't build them like this anymore. The carved wood is an example of a lost craft, and the interior is grand.

The Pantages is amazing!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/28/05
I think the Pantages theatre is a great place to see a show. Even the worst seat is still a great seat. The theatre itself is gorgeous and it is very comfortable. There is a sense of history and glamour to the theatre that is priceless.

Too much background noise
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/31/05
The historical architecture of this theater is breathtaking. Sitting in my seat, I couldn't help but imagine what is must have been like in the early days of theater.
However, I am disappointed that the theater sells food/drink/candy, etc. to patrons, who are allowed to take such items back to their seat, for consumption during the show. ...
