We go every week or so. Excellent food and service. It is where I take guests to Alameda.Where we have Birthday Dinners and where we go on Fridays for lunch. Dan

Quiet little place. Really good sushi, reasonable prices. Not much ambiance but if you want a delicious lunch in a short time, it's the place to go. The service is very friendly. Especially love the Dragon Roll!

Our comfort food favorite
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/03/06
My husband and I go to Sakura on Friday nights after a long hard work week, not just because the food is fresh and well prepared, but because you can taste the respect and nurturing in it. Setting is unpretentious, service is good, and there's no pressure to churn and burn. This is what dining out should be and too rarely is.

Sushis lovers' favorite place!
By audreymeligon, 07/19/06
The food there is just amazing!!! Very original and always very tasty. The sushi chef is very pleasant and quite funny as well. Service is great, you never wait very long and the waiters are always pleasant and smily. There's a parking lot right next to the place... I mean what else do you want??
This is one of my favorite restaurant in Alameda (and definitely the best sushis over there!)
HIGHLY RECOMEMDED!!!

Best Sushi in Alameda
By DJ Tronic, 02/16/06
Absolutely the best sushi you can get in Alameda, and I'll venture to say anywhere. The sushi chef knows his craft very well, great creativity and amazing taste to every dish and roll. I highly recommend the Kamikaze roll, far and away the best roll they offer, and check out the Tarzan roll for dessert! Service is awesome, the chef will chat ...

Great local 'Hole in the Wall'
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/05
Discovered by the locals - its a tiny (20 seat ?) family-run (Husband/brother/wife) establishment. Great fresh sushi, and willing to customize dishes to suit. Chef knows his trade. If too many 'off-islanders' discover this, its gonna be hard to get a table....

We already went there at least five times, and never were disappointed. Especially recommend the "bay bridge" and the spicy tuna sushi rolls. Service is excellent, and the food is always a pleasant experience.
