  • The hidden treasure of Huntsville Alabama
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/09
Today, my wife and I found a hidden treasure in Huntsville Alabama. We had the pleasure of visiting the Weeden House Museum, and heard about it through some friends from Montana who had been there before. I am truly not into old homes but my wife is and she insisted we had to go just to tell our friends we had been there. Boy, were we surprised ...

  • Huntsville magic at its best!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/03/08
This museum is the highlight of Huntsville visitors! My family and I had the most wonderful time and the best tour we have ever gotten in our travels. We live in Nashville and came down for the fall break and we are so glad. We have museums here but nothing like the fun tour Ms. Barbara gave us. She is a fantastic animated storyteller and kept ...

  • Fantastic Tour
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/11/08
We came from out of town . The Director, Barbara Scott was fabulous. So nice & wonderful doing the poetry & such a great storyteller. This was one of the best times I had touring a historic site due mainly to Barbara. The info about Howard Weeden was so interesting such a gem that I had never heard about. Definitly visit.

  • Can't wait to go back!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/07
My friends and I are from Jasper, AL and were just driving around when we passed the museum. I love history and could tell this house had lots of it. We stopped only to realize it was close to closing time, but the director invited us in anyway and stayed late just to give us the tour and history of the house. She was amazing and had such a sweet ...

  • Breath Taking!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/01/07
My daughter and I and 2 other children went there for a tour and got so much more than we expected. I thought at first the children would get restless but the director's stories kept them so intrigued. It was truly a step back in time and the children are looking forward to the next visit. I highly recommend the tour to all ages. It was a great time. We will be back.

  • My wife forced me to go!!!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/29/07
Although I was going just because my wife wanted to, I thought it would be just another old house. Boy, was I wrong. The director gave so much information and told the stories in such a way, that she held your attention through the entire tour. She knew the history of the Weeden house. Her tour was so much better than others I have been to. It was well worth the admission. If only other museum directors could do so well.

  • Fairfield Glade TN. Ladies Club
    By Barbara, 05/18/07
We were fortunate to schedule a trip to the Weeden House Museum. The guide was so entertaining and knowledgeable about the house and it's inhabitants that it has encouraged some of us to find out more about Maria Howard Weeden and her works.
    We highly recommend this tour.

  • A Beauty for Huntsville
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/07
The Weeden Museum has touched my heart every time I crossed over the threshold. The warmth and spirit feeling leaves you excited about history. The tour by the director is just what everyone talks about, it is like being in front of a stage of a one-woman show. All need to experience it more than once. Sarah James, Huntsville

  • What a gift Huntsville has
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/06/07
My wife and I visited the Weeden Museum lately and we were fortunate to have the director give us the tour. She spent over an hour with us giving us a trip back in time and we left so exhilirated. When she got to the poetry, we both felt it and not ashamed to say we cried for it was so beautiful. What a gift Huntsville has in her. Her talents ...

  • My wife and I have visited many times whenever our guests come to town for a visit and we will continue to go there as long as Barbara is the Director. She brings Huntsville, Alabama and the Weeden House to full life for us each time. The last time we visited she had a bus tour going on and she had them laughing and crying at the same time. We feel we have become old friends with her wit and personality and we always leave feeling we are part of the Weeden family. Don Larrison, Decatur, Alabama

We loved it all. It is such a warm and inviting place. It is open during the week from 11-4 and all ages would love the place. It just felt magical to us.
