    History lives in this quaint town on the river. The historic distic is still mostly intact with beautiful old homes from the 1800's when cotton was king on the nearby river. Homes are privately owned but less than two blocks away on 2nd ave you have great restaurants like Scamp McGee for seafood and Maria Bonita for authentic mexican charm. The ...

  • Charming neighborhoods

    These 2 neighborhoods, separated by several blocks, have housing from ramshankle to grand; from modern bungalows to Victorian and Edwardian, Craftsman and International design. All are privately owned, but the two neighborhoods host a December tour, and occasionally some of the homes are open for other tours. You can't beat a springtime drive through the streets, admiring the architecture and the blooming trees.
