The Pines were great when I was in college and still great for when my buddies and me (now scattered across the south) get together for a weekend.
The new clubhouse is a huge upgrade from the one that burnt down. It adds a little class to the municipal course.
The course doesn't drain too well, so playing a day after a big rain isn't ...

Good college golf course
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/07
Indian Pines, located in Auburn, is a good value golf course for college students or beginners. It has wide and mostly straight fairways with sparse woods so lost balls will be at a minimum. The greens are a little small so approach shots can be difficult. The traps are not maintained well at all. Hitting out of them is like hitting off of hard ...
Prices are very reasonable, but the course is just too easy. Great for beginners and intermediate golfers, but if you're looking for a challenge this is not the place. It gets severe drainage problems after a heavy rain.

I can't wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/03/07
The front nine are harder to me than the back nine. The front nine has more water on it than the back nine . The only thing is that the back nine are longer than the front nine. I am thirteen and I can play there with little difficulty. They also have reasonable prices.

Cheap
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/20/06
It is good because it is cheap. But don't bring your putter just get to the green and add 2 to your score because the greens are in awful shape. Not there fault though when a course is this cheap you have so many people on them everyday it is hard to keep the greens in good condition. Good for beginners and people who are bored.

Jimbo's Links
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/05
This is a great public course and a great value. The island green 3rd hole is every bit the challenge of the 17th at TPC. Hitting drivers over the net on the range is a blast until Jimbo gets on the P.A. and calls you out. Great staff - smile Jimbo - you work at a golf course.

Best College town golf course
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/17/05
Well, it's so cheap for a golf course in the middle of town but well maintained. It has nice atmosphere and nice staffs. The set-up is very generous and forgivable for a beginner. The back tee is little bit challenge for a mid-handicapper. The slope rating is 115(white tee) to 119(blue tee). So, low-handicapper and high-handicapper can have ...

CONSUMER REPORTS #1 GOLF COURSE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/05
I first went to Indian Pines a little over a year ago. When they first told me the rate over the phone I couldnt believe it. $27.00 for 18 on a weekend????? That was just crazy. Especially when you consider the other golf courses in and around the area within a 45 mile radius are averaging $50 dollars per 18.
So, needless to say, its a great ...
