Horsehoe Bend NMP is a bit off the beaten path, which is a bit of a shame since it preserves a site that played such an important part in the history of both Caucasian and Native American people.
I learned a great deal more than most people do in history class about the causes leading up to the U.S./Creek conflict. The orientation film is excellent and the grounds are well maintained. Worth a daytrip.
