It is breathtakingly beautiful and heavenly. It was as if I entered paradise and just enjoyed the gorgeous view of the Roman pool and its foundation. I would go back in a second and plan on doing that soon.

Overly commercialized tourist trap
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/07/08
We used to recommend this place to every visitor. Now you have to pay $ 25 per person just to get out of the car. I don't mind paying to taste - but after I have gotten into the tasting room and like what I see.

Thorougly enjoyed our visit!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/03/07
The history of this winery is very interesting and well explained. We had been here several years ago and were very surprised on our return to see the transformation with the fountains, new gift shop, and improvements to the grounds. This is a beautiful relaxing winery to visit and a must if you are in Napa Valley.

Sat at Francis and Mrs. Coppola's favorite patio table and listened to stories about cross breeding lemon with lime trees. An employee handed us lemons to take home whiel we were sipping wine and breaking bread near sunset.

Mondavi tour was way better
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/21/06
For $25 it is not worth it to take a tour of this winery. The tour really wasn't a tour. We walked up a hill overlooking the bottom half of the vineyard and were given a 10 minute history of the winery, followed by a walk through of their replica wine caskets. The tour ended 5 minutes later in the upstairs part of the chauteu where we were ...

No longer a place to go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/12/06
This was the "must go to" destination whenever friends came to visit me in San Francisco. It's a beautiful location and, prior to the take over by Rubicon, was a great place for new and return vistors to enjoy the winery and the Copploa legacy.
Now you can't even enter the premises without a mandatory $25 per person tasting ...

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/02/06
We used to love to go to this winery. The tasting fee wasn't bad, the wine delicious and you got to keep your glass. Now it really is a trap. You have to pay $25 in order to even set foot on the premise and nothing is for free anymore- not even the glass. Very disappointing, I used to recommend this winery to everyone I knew but not anymore.
Since Rubicon has taken over operations of the Coppola Winery, what used to be a pleasurable experience has eroded into a tourist trap. Tastings are now $25.00 and the crystal stemware once used has been replaced by cheap glass. The wines tasted were unremarkable. I look forward to the winery experience because this is an opportunity for the ...

Highly recommend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/05
The flight of wine was terrific focused mainly on red wines (even included a taste of Rubicon!) The staff was professional, knowlegable, passionate/interesting to talk with. I was able to buy a glass of wine and sit outside in the gorgeous courtyard by the fountain. Lastly, it was refreshing to see beautifully selected product versus souvenir-type merchandise. Overall this sophisticated, but fun experience was our favorite visit!
