For anyone interested in history, you'll lose yourself here. There are areas for everyone to enjoy and learn from. I couldn't see everything in one day.

Just your typical museum...
By xolauren576xo, 05/19/06
This place was just ok for the first hour or so, but the quality of the museum is mediocre and not much more. I thought some of the exhibits were interesting, but some I found to be quite dull and some were a little on the creepy side. I wouldn't suggest it for small children who don't like museums and such or any average kids older than 10 ...

Find the roots of Ohio
By DocMedPot, 12/29/05
The building itself, a enormous representation of one of the first type of structures built during Ohio's settlement era, "The Blockhouse" is just the first hint of what this fantastic museum has to offer.
I recommend it as great afternoon's worth showing the overall history of the state of Ohio.

Really worth a second look
By sbrsam2, 10/03/05
The historical center is the place to be if you are a research nut or just a family genealogist. Loads of information at your finger tips, make this stop well worth your drive. Nestled in the middle of scenic Columbus, the History Center doesn't disappoint.

Historical Center Review
By spitman324, 09/28/05
The historical center is a great place for the family to come and find out about the state they live in. The historical center has interesting and informative exihits. The outdoor village gives a snapshot of life in the past. This is a good place to go for a informative and educational experiance. Give yourself at least half a day to enjoy it fully.

Good for kids

A Plethora of Historical Collections
By Cece, 09/23/05
As an amateur genealogist one of my favorite places to be is the Ohio Historical Center in Columbus, Ohio. There are many many personal collections of historical memorabilia just as military weapons, arrowheads, vintage clothing, etc., as well as a wonderful library filled with documents and research material so valuable to anyone researching Ohio history as well as their own personal history

Remembering the past
By jefftmiller19, 09/21/05
I grew up in Columbus, oh. Going to the museum was somthing my parents did often with myself and sister. I learned a lot visiting the museum. Got to spend many hours with my parents as we toured the building. It will always be a great memory I will cheerish for the rest of my life.
