  • Not Good!

Ok, I have been here before and will have to say this visit was very dissappointing. Many of the exhibit areas were not open and quality of exhibits were poor. I think that families are better off going to the movies or doing something more constructive. Poor value for your money!!!!!

  • "It's a must see for everyone."
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/13/08
Why I liked Discovery Place is because it is good to teach about the world we live in and how great science really is because it is so interactive. My favorite exhibit would have to be the Knight Rainforest because some people will probably never see a animal that is found in the rainforest in the future because of deforetization. The IMAX Dome ...

  • Wow!

We all enjoyed this experience very much. Very hands on! So much to see and learn didn't seem like we had time to take it all in. Almost everything is interactive. A must if you have children! The cost is well worth it.

We went while the Dead Sea Scrolls were there. While we didn't actually go see the exhibit there were masses of ...

  • Loved this place as a kid
    By horselover1978, 05/18/07
I went to two Girl Scout "camp ins" at Discovery Place as a kid, and had a great time with other Girl Scouts from all over Charlotte. I have not been back for a while because I no longer live in Charlotte, but one day I am downtown again I will go back and see what else has been added since 1989! What I remember was that it was wonderful.

  • Excellent

Excellent place to take your family/children.
I do see the point of some of the negative posters. The exhibits could offer a bit more depth given many visitors are adults or smart teens.

Overall though it's a great fun place to go with the family. I would highly recommend it.

  • Great place for families!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/13/06
I take my 3 year old at least once every month. We have a family membership there and love it. Lots of things to touch and see. Even at his age there is alot for him to do. Especially love going on cold or rainy days when we can't play outside.
    Highly recommend going.

  • Great location.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/05/06
the Dead sea scrolls exhibit was great but the method of that large of group going in the same time was not so fun. Also saw the Mysteries of the Nile in the Imax theater and it was a wonderful experience.

  • Not too great
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/06
I have lived in Charlotte for a fair amount of years and have seen Discovery Place only as a child's place. It has little educational, facual information for young minds or adults, like a museum should have. The hands-on experience is alright, but does not tie in enough scientific or other information, thus making them pointless if you can read ...
