Staff not as great as their productsI couldn't believe the shame I felt when I dragged my dad from Kihei back to Paia so I could purchase a silk shawl I saw the day before. When we got there, the sales person was fighting with a customer and when I approached the cash to pay, the sales woman seems so completely out of it that it took her almost 10 minutes to ring me up. Overcharged at Madala Ethnic ArtsI purchased two mesh wraps and was quoted a price of 126.00 plus tax. My husband signed the charge receipt not knowing the price and actually paid 141.67. I later checked the receipt and found the overcharge. I returned to the store and was supposed to receive a credit of 10.00 plus the return of the tax. Beware of this shop...I found the manager and the owner extremely snotty and inattentive. They do not have their return policy sign in a location where people can see it. It is on the top of the counter where it is blocked and hard to see. If you buy something from these people make sure you really want it because they will not let you return it. fretkkokpWow! What an incredable shop. My favorite shop on Maui. Really the most beautiful clothes selection I have ever seen. These guys shop themselves in India, Bali, Thailand and Nepal and bring back the finest stuff imaginable. Exotic jewelry, statues, handicrafts and sacred arts. Not to be missed.
