This is one of best restaurants on the island. The Kea Lani is beautiful and sitting on the patio at Nick's at Sunset was truly charming.
The service was exceptional. The staff put a lot of personality into their job unlike some nice restaurants were the staff is very "formal." I found this to be very refreshing and ...

Beyond Awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/20/07
Once good, Nicks is worse every time we go. Now they are at rock bottom. It was well over an hour between the appetizers and the entree, three of seven meals had to be sent back as they were dry, cold and inedible after sitting under a heatlamp. We asked to speak to the manager, and the "manager" who came over was clearly not a person ...

avoid at all cost--spend your$ at duo
By ciscobeach55, 08/16/07
i recently stayed at the fairmont--the concierge desk recommended nick's since it is on the premises--what a mistake--i ordered a fresh oyster dish which i thought would be a good choice at a seafood restaurant--bad assumption--bad oysters on the plate--after i rejected the dish, the manager offered no apology and simply asked if i wanted to ...

Don't miss this one!

Great food, service and setting. We make it an annual stop! The menu is outstanding and the prepation is exquisite. Ask for a patio table when you make your reservation to watch the sunset.

Disappointing

Heard so much about this place. The actual experience was a letdown. Too hectic and too expensive. Service was attentive, but seemed to take forever.

Where's my camera?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/20/06
Food was generally very good. Service OK. Took two steps out the door, realized our digital camera was left on the table. Immediately went back....everything cleared off already! Camera gone. ?????? Still waiting since January for an explanation.
It's just so so place to eat. The ambiance is pretty good but nothing special for the food and service. I rather spend my money going to Banyan Tree (Ritz) or Ferraro's (FS).

Nicks - A Cut Above the Rest
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/06
Nick's was the highlight of eating in HAwaii. Most of the food in Hawaii was fair at best. Nicks was outstanding. Instead of going to other restaurants we stuck iwth Nicks. Service was top notch, and the AHI Mignon was to die for. You'll pay, but well worth the experience. Anyone who thinks otherwise probably is a little over critical. Coming from a family with a 4 star restaurant, I think Nicks fits that label as well.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/24/06
This past August, we dined at Nicks, as we do each summer, only to find the usually wonderfully attentive staff less than attentive. We experienced the following: 1. It took approx. 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence at our table. 2. It took another 30 minutes to get the 1st course (salads & soup). 3. After finishing the ...

The best dining experience of my life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/01/06
The best experience of our lives. We went twice while on the island. We took our 8 year old, who had had her share of eating out. She giggled and was enchanted the entire evening. She would take a sip out of her water just to see a waiter literally run to fill it up. It was hysterical. I have never been so entertained by the staff. They all ...
