Reunification Palace, in the heart of downtown HCM City, was the headquarters of the Saigon regime and it has been kept as a remnant of the war.
The palace, used by the presidents of South Vietnam, has Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street in the front, Huyen Tran Cong Chua at the back, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai on the right and Nguyen Du on the left. Surrounded ...
It's an interesting tour, to say the least. Informative, but like most official things in the country, it is not an objective historical account. I'd recommend it for everyone, but history students will quickly see how much information is left out. Smile and nod. The short film at the end of the tour is also some heavy propoganda, but it's better than most movies you are forced to watch on the airplane that got you there

What? No American Spin?
By drbones666, 06/17/07
History is written by the victors and the North won. Deal with it.
For any serious student of the American War, a trip to Vietnam is a breath of fresh air. It's nice to get away from the sour-grapes of the US spin machine. The information you get at the Palace and the War Remnants Museum is open, honest and right there for you to see. ...

An Architectural Treat
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 10/30/07
I had no expectations, I didn't research Vietnam before travelling there because I used a trusted travel agent to organise our tour. So, with our most informative guide in charge we arrived at the Palace in a mini bus and drove into the grounds. I thought the facade was fabulous but when I saw the interior I was delighted. The architecture ...

The Truth about Saigon
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 11/13/04
In response to other reviews on this page, the information you receive from the tour guides at the Reunification Palace is much better and more accurate than the propoganda that U.S. schools teach to their students. It was the American war not the Vietnam war. The country was left in its damaged state by American soldiers not the Vietnamese. The ...

A must see with biased propaganda
By Pham T, 03/15/07
To understand the VN war history, however there is too much propaganda giving too much credit to North VN communists while bashing the south presidents Thieu and Diem . It is boring to hear one sided story of the victors.

Communist propaganda
By Daniel S, 06/30/05
The palace is an ok museum, but I noticed it was not well cared for. The tour guide could speak english, but with a strong accent. This place is alright if you are into the history portion of Vietnam and the communist takeover.

Nothing Special
By Martin Woo, 03/05/07
I've been to Saigon for many times but this is my first visit to the Reunification Palace. In terms of architecture, yes it's a marvel and the landscape is a beauty. The inside however, to my personal opinion sorry to say but a little boring. The scenario is like walking into a building with no occupants. You will see a non-commisioned Huey ...
