We stayed at a hotel in the Lickeys and had the best experience - we watched a heron fishing on the lake, fed the ducks, saw an eagle hunting at close quarters - a fab time for anyone wanting to escape to the country yet still be within easy reach of the city.

We live 10 minutes from here so often spend time there. It has a lovely play area, lots of nice walks and is wonderful for flying a kite on a windy day.

Superb countryside so close to Birmingham, great for a walk anytime of year. Kids play area, visitor centre and great views and it's free. Spring would not be the same without a visit to the bluebell woods!
