my all time favorite restaurantMy annual trip to Johannesburg would not be complete without dinner at La Madeleine. There are many fine restaurants in the Santon/Jo'burg area & over the 26 years I've been going to South Africa this restaurant stands head & shoulders above the rest.

Exquisite French CuisineTravelling frequently from Europe to Cape Town I always make a stop in Johannesburg/Pretoria only to visit to the restaurang La Madeleine. The food is of the same class as the best in France. The Chef has a great fantasy and knowledge in cooking. South-Africa should be proud of having such an artist in the country.

Good FoodIts a pity the "Yahoo User from Johannesburg " is a Yahoo and more at home eating dung. I have been to La Madeleine a number of time and on visits from the UK always make this one of the place to eat. OVER RATED & BAD1.) Who serves heated oysters out of the shell with cream and spinach. It is that bad that I had to vomit them up when we got home.
2.) Duck - very average considering you can go to the Bell Pepper in Kensington for 1/3 of the price and eat this really like the French do.
