I have to agree with the 2nd reviewer above. While East Coast Park is a nice weekend outing for local Singaporeans, it is not really a place to recommend for tourists. My idea of a nice beach is pearl white sand with crystal blue water with an uninterrupted view of the horizon. You will not find this at East Coast Park. What you will find are great seafood eateries and those looking for great eats will not be disappinted there.

Not sure who is writing the rave reviews about ECP, but recommending this as a tourist destination is not even funny... it's downright mean. Singapore is not a beach destination by any stretch of the imagination, and you would be very disappointed if you came here with that expectation. The sea is cluttered with ugly tankers coming in and out ...

east coast park was the best. it was worth the time, and its a great place with kids...everyone of all ages can go there, there are many things for anyone. weather its building a sand castle, eating the delicious food, biking or jogging around the wonderful paths with fresh air...costs are low but an ejoyable time is what you get. go in the late afternoon around 2 and eat lunch and then enjoy!

Why Phuket and Bali when East Coast Park in Singapore is best.
Everything you ever need you will find it there. Pubs, music, Indian-Chinese-western restaurants, and the seaside seafood restarants are world famous.
ECP also has a very long 5 km rollerblading , jogging, cycling track for fitness people.
