Desaru is a very small and local development on a relatively nice beach. Other than a couple of resorts and a golf course, there is almost nothing else there. There is no shopping or nightlife whatsoever. A tiny town called Bandar Penawar is a few kilometers away but consists mainly of boarding schools. There is one food center there called Medan ...

Desaru is just a 2 hour drive from Singapore. It offers the best sea view at the southern part of peninsular malaysia. We can see great sun rise at Desaru.
