I truly enjoyed visiting Accompong and learning about the history. Stayed at a new campground, Baboo's Garden, about a mile outside of town, and got to meet some of the locals. There is such a wonderful heritage in the Maroon country, to say nothing of the food and weather. It was a great contrast to all of the tourists and the beaches, and made the trip most enjoyable, giving my group a fuller appreciation of Jamaica.
GOING THERE WAS GREAT! IT MADE MY MIND WANDER TO THE STRUGGLES MY ANCESTORS HAD BEEN THROUGH AND MADE ME PROUD TO BE A JAMAICAN,I KNOW THAT EVERY WHERE WAS BEING TECHNOLOGIZED BUT I MUST ADMIT I WAS RATHER DISAPPOINTED TO SEE HOW WELL DEVELOPED THE PLACE WAS AND THAT ONLY ONE PERSON COULD SPEAK THE LANGUAGE .DESPITE ALL THAT THOUGH,I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK TO ACCOMPONG IT WAS A VERY REWARDING EXPERIENCE.
