Going to Negril had to include a stop at Ricks Cafe. Pleasanat people, nice facility, great views of the grotto...worth the stop. But, be damned careful for being a showoff or being brave about the cliff jumping. It is serious business. And Ricks is not prepared to handle an emergency. I jumped from 35' and landed hard on my ass, both butt ...

Ricks Cafe
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/26/09
I had a blast at Ricks. Definately a must see. It was beautiful and I thought the food was really good! I had the steamed snapper and shrimp. Be careful because when you make a purchase at the bar you get Jamaican money back. I decided to jump and I was actually wondering if I could get some advice. I jumped about a week ago and landed in the ...
yes, i did make the jump at rick's cafe cliffs for my 50th birthday. in fact, i did it twice. i'm a female breast cancer survivor, double mastectomy with full reconstruction, and a hysterectomy last year as well. i did not jump the highest cliff, as i knew my body was too fragile for that, but they do have lower cliffs to jump, that are ...

Fractured sternum and tailbone?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/14/08
How is that possible...especially with your legs angled slightly a few degress from vertical? Your tailbone is your butt and sternum is in the front of your chest. The feeling that I got when my feet leave the ledge and all that supported me is 33ft of caribbean breeze overlying some of the most beautiful water on the globe is an experience that was worth the risk for me. The scariest part is realizing that there is no reversing the decision to jump and it's quite amazing how many thoughts can transpire ...
Back in the early eighties I went to Negril for two weeks and ended up staying for seven. Needless to say my financial situation was tenuous at best.
We fed ourself by either being defacto tour guides or getting up early and helping with the local fishermen using nets and dugout canoes. If you fished you were guaranteed two meals, nothing fancy. ...

General review

We first went to Rick's Cafe on the Tuesday. We took a motor boat out in the day before it opened and swam up to the cliff.I jumped the 'baby jump' with no problems and as we'd gone specifically to jump the big cliff, i started climbing to the top. Once at the top my nerves obviously kicked in. There are signs everywhere saying the ...
I had the opportunity to visit beautiful Rick's cafe last summer. My friends and I decided to brave the cliff jump. After much glaring from the "life guard" (tip-hunter) and cheering from my friends I took the step. The "life guard" instructed me to keep my legs together and arms out to my side. He told me to bring my ...
