The castle has been beautifully restored and the guides are extremely knowledgeable as well as interesting. The steps up may be too much for some people but if you can make it, the upper rooms are fascinating. Great value for a stop-over on the Ring of Kerry.

Take a Jaunting car ride from the square in Killarney. The ride is fun and when you round a bend you have a great view of this magical castle. When you learn the history of the castle it comes alive for you.
Don't miss it.

I liked every thing about the castle, the tour guide was excellant, I was there in July of 04.Many details were given to the life style of that period. I think it would be a great palce for a restored village as at Bunratty. I wish they had let us see all of the ruins,i would like to have seen the barracks. A great time there but M'm a little boased, Patrick O'Donohue. and thank you to the gentleman from Philly who not let this place die
Ross Castle and Innisfallen Island is so serene and peaceful, with so much history. One of my favorite places in Killarney. I would recommend visiting here as well as the Muckross Abbey.
