I was on my way to Munich for Oktoberfest several years back but my purse was snatched on the train platform. I filed a German police report. A package arrived after I got home to the US with my handbag with everything in it! Hang on to your stuff!

This is a classic world class train station that can get you just about anywhere you would like to go in Europe. The grocery store and some food is open on Sunday, so it is helpful when everything else is closed. The atmosphere is interesting and there is even a Starbucks!

I went here by train from darmstadt (a city about 20-30 minutes away) it iwas so cool, just absolutely awesome. The outside was very beautiful.

I probably would have starved to death if it weren't for the Hauptbahnhof in Frankfurt. When I went to live in Frankfurt to attend school, I had no idea that everything (and I do mean everything) is closed on Sunday in Germany. Only the grocery store and pharmacy at the train station are open on Sunday. I'm told they can make you show a train ticket to be able to shop there during the off hours but no one ever asked me for one.
