It is hard to imagine the amount of time required to "build" something like this. Especially when you see an attraction almost 75 years old and the formations look basically the same as they did the first time they were seen.
When I went to this cave, we were extremely displeased with our experience. I guess I've been spoiled with all the National Parks caves I visited as a child, where they keep them pristine and as natural as possible.
This one was dirty with lots of grafitti in all parts of the tour. Yuck!!
The claim of the tour is the waterfall at the ...

Ruby Falls was breathtaking!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/05/07
My husband and I really enjoyed the falls. There is a small wait time to get on the tour and the size of your group depends on the time of the season. We had around 30 people in our group. The tourguide was very talkative and informative but it was a relaxed atmosphere. They take their time so that you are not rushed and have time to enjoy your ...

Not Good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/07
We just got back from our trip..Ruby Falls was a BIG disapointment. we felt like we were ran thru so fast, and didn't have time to see anything hardly. When we did make it to the falls, we didn't even have time to take pics. I understand they were busy, but I had rather wait in line a few minutes longer if it means that you can spend more ...
I'm glad I toured Ruby Falls, but it's something that I'd only do once. Interesting, but not as breathtaking as the other reviewers described. If you are a naturalist, you'll love it. If you are claustrophobic, stay away. I think some of the stories told by the tour guide are for entertainment purposes only. Don't believe everything you hear. Tour takes a while so don't go in a rush.
I took five kids ages 2-12 to Ruby Falls during Winter Break of 2007. We all had a blast! It was not crowded. The kids got a thrill out of being so far underground. They were amazed by the waterfall and the rock formations. We also went to Lookout Mountain, which was enjoyable as well. There is a lot to do in Chattanooga and since we only had ...

MORE TIME, FOR GOODNESS SAKE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/07
I absolutely love the cave. It is easy to maneuver in and easy for even my five year old to make the trek. The falls are wonderful and well worth seeing. My problem with Ruby Falls is that the tour groups are so large that aprox half of the group misses out on a great deal of the tour guides information. Therefore, they miss out on a great deal ...

i i love it thte best time to come is on a rainy or gloomy day during january or december because not very many people come
This was the first time my children had seen the inside of a cave and they thought it was awesome. My only complaint was with the grill(i guess you would call it), they told some people they were out of frech fries but served us cold ones. Otherwise, it was a great experience.
The falls was beautiful but the tour guide ran us through the tour so fast we did not have a chance to enjoy it. There were plenty of places for a handicapped person to rest during the tour, but we were scooted through so fast we could not sit down. At the end of the tour we were delivered to the top floor where the gift shop is. I would not recommend this attraction to anyone not in top physical condition.
