A beautiful aquarium with several interactive exhibits. A great place to go as a family. My 8 year old and 5 year old can't wait to go back. They have a couple of areas you can touch the fish and a butterfly garden where butterflies will land on your finger.
If you are only in Chattanooga for only one day. You must visit Tennessee Aquarium, there are two buildings to visit. There are tons of beautiful fishes to view. Plus they have sharks! Although, I was looking forward to seeing a whale or a dolphin in the Ocean Building (but there wasn't any).
The Tennessee Aquarium is a great example of what an aquarium should be. This was our second visit, and our first to the Ocean Voyager building. We are from Atlanta, and have season passes to the Georgia Aquarium, and any day I would rather drive to Chattanooga for a visit to the Tenn. Aqua. I would also highly recommend the "Behind the ...
This aquarium makes our local aquarium look like a goldfish bowl! Both buildings were great as far as layout and content. I have never seen so many fish in one building.
We visited Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga in May 2005. We were so excited to see it. When we arrived, it took us 30 minutes to find a parking lot for the car. It was not so terrible as the most terrible experience we had: that we had to wait in line for extra 1 hour to buy the tickets and extra 2 hours to get in the aquarium. We advise you buy ...

The part we saw was ok but I paid almost fifty dollars for tickets to find out several days later there were two different buildings. I took my grandchildren and no one explained there were two different buidings to see. They were looking forward to the butterflies which we didn't find. The aquarium was great. The tickets are expensive, but considering the size of the aquarium and the fact that it is located in two separate buildings, it's probably worth what you pay. Don't save it for the end of the day when you're tired or you will not be able to give it the attention it deserves and the children will be whiney. ...
The volunteers here were awesome and very informative, I plan on taking my daughter back here when shes old enough to enjoy it, I hate driving and this is almost a 3 hour drive for me and I say it was WELL worth it all.

My family and I went here on vacation and it was very nice. They have a good selection of fish and Oh! the butterfly garden was spectacular, definitely a must see. I do wish there had been a little bit more variety in the animals though. The building itself was very beatiful and nice.
I would consider visiting the aquarium, I think anyone would enjoy it.
