  • Carousel & More
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/03/04
I rode the fish-horse! The carousel is the centerpiece of this scenic park on the river. It's very cheap -- 50 cents per ride, I think. We brought a picnic and listened to some musicians one evening.

  • Best Place to Take the Kids on a Hot Day
    By houdini2252000, 07/24/05
This was one of the best days we had in Chattanooga. My son loved playing in the fountain. He played for hours and there was never an incident of the bigger kids being too rowdy or running over the littly ones at all. This should be rated the number one thing to do in this town for families. The fountain is free and the carousel is 50 cents a ...

  • Looking forward to my next trip back !!!!!
    By Christy, 01/25/07
Coolidge Park is a great place for children and adults alike. There's a large, grassy area for picnicing, sunning, playing frisbee and more. The children can enjoy a carrousel ride in a covered building. Teens have a great sidewalk path that goes around and through the park to ride a bike or rollerblade. Dog owners have plenty of space for ...

  • Family Park
    By dixieflyer1, 03/20/08
loved the vintage carousel, and the water fountains that children could run through and play in. The walkways along the river, and the climbing wall on one of the piers of the Walnut Street Walking bridge were very interesting.

  • A little too crowded on a hot day
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/30/07
After our long walk across the pedestrian bridge, we were bombarded by tons of other children at the interactive waterfall.

Great place, just too many kids running around and around. I was afraid they would knock my small children over.

  • Great time with the Family!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 06/02/07
Coolidge Park hands down is a definatley great place to go expecially on a sunny summer day. To me and my family its the small stores and places to eat that make that river front so exciting. My 15 yr. old loves the shops like all things groovy while the two 5yr. old twins love to play and eat. The Mudpie ties our family together funky art, kind people, good food.....what more can you ask for.......

  • It was wonderful!
    By melmore641, 10/07/06
It was a great place to take my kids. It was very inexpensive, and you didn't have to worry about having money. I really enjoyed the fountains. My kids played for hours. They loved it more than me. I would recommend it for anyone.

  • Carousel
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 08/23/06
The Carousel was WONDERFUL !!!!!! What a special treat. I was glad we found it.
We went across the river to eat at the Town & Country Restaurant(which is still advertised on the Chattanooga web page)& was told it had closed a year ago & now has a Walgreens on that property so we were disapointed about that.

  • Great walk from downtown
    By mckbri, 05/19/06
Coolidge Park has got to be one of the bext places in Chattanooga. The walk across the Walnut Street Bridge is spectacular. The park is so open and family-friendly. If we lived in Chattanooga, many afternoons would be spent in the park. Of course, if you go to Coolidge Park, you must ride the carousal and have ice cream at Clumpies.
