We just loved Rock City. A super place to take the family. Amazing views, awesome exhibits and unbelievable sculpture garden in Fairtale Caverns. You can see seven states from the top of the mountain, lots of paths to explore, something for everyone. Beautiful, clean, and a must see if you are in driving distance or happen to be lucky enough to visit Chattanooga!

Dwarfs?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/06
Rock City Gardens was very pretty for the most part. Very nice gardens, interesting rock formations, beautiful view. But, towards the end it becomes this weird fantasy land with neon dwarfs, culminating with a slightly disturbing, massive cave of neon dwarf scenes. Up until that point, it's a very nice place, but the strange dwarf land almost ruins it.
This was a fantastice place to just take your time and walk through. It was time to stop and just enjoy the wonders of Mother Nature. Plan to spend at least 4 hours here or more it is well worth the trip. Just don't bother to go to the concession stand for lunch that was horrible food.

Enforcing a ditto

As many others have reviewed, it's a beautiful place. The staff was very friendly! I also enjoy that it's self guided so you can take as long as you want to look around.
I liked this place as a child and had an even better time as an adult, as I went with my husband who had never been, and with my dog who enjoyed every minute we were there (except for the swing bridge). Every thing was clean and well kept, and it had one of the least expensive snack bars I have ever been to.
My wife and I went to Rock City the afternoon of the day we went to see Ruby Falls.
Once again, our 3-year-old daughter made every step through this attraction as she did at Ruby Falls.
Great trails through humongous boulders, really makes you feel small.
The only downside was the swinging bridge. I went in front of my wife and daughter, ...

A Pleasant Walk
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/06
I'm not small. We enjoyed the paths and the plants. I fit through all the squeezes. :) One pair of people brought their very nervous/angry small dog that nipped at anyone who walked by as they said it was her first time out. Ok, how about no pets on their first time out ? The path was well cared for and quite nice. The plants were ...
The scenery and view of the magestic rocks and mountains were breathtaking. The staff in the gift shops were helpful and professional. We wished we had more time to spend here. The swinging bridge and the the Fantasy area were our favorites. We hope to return in the future and will tell others.
This was an enjoyable experience that I would recomend. There is a fat mans squeeze between two enormous rocks, and a swing bridge (don't worry there is a more solid bridge for those that are afraid of the swing bridge. There is an awsome view at the top of the city.
We were pleasantly surprised by Rock City. The kids loved it. We enjoyed too. Unique rock trail including squeezing between hugh boulders. The Fairy Tale Cave was fun for the kids. The 7-state outlook (on a clear day) was neat. Very nice granite map showing which states. There is also a waterfall, swinging bridge, white deer, and flora to see.
