Such a beautiful place- a classic that everyone must visit at least once. The constant crowds are annoying but if you are lucky enough to hit it on a slow day you will be blessed with an amazing experience. The lodge is beautiful with a nice menu, the gift shop is great for schotzke's and bric a brac. Skip the espresso (just plain bad) and the snack bar (very dirty, rude innatentive employees)
I do not have a taste for elegant food, but they have state of the art sunday brunch... A store is available for all your needs. The hike to the top is magnificent... Free to see falls up close, and to hike..
Of all the places I’ve visited in my lifetime, this is my favorite spot to just think and meditate. I can stand for hours on the bridge overlooking the waterfall. . . Spend a day to take it all in and hike up to the top. It's about a mile to the top of the waterfall, and several more miles to the top of the mountain. Wear really good hiking boots or sneakers!
