I always go to the Hertel Avenue area when I visit my hometown. Love Guy at his antique shop, love breakfast at Kosta's (porch seats in summer); Parkside Candy is a trip and a half--they still have old fashioned Soda Jerks (my Papa was one in the 30's) and if you're lucky enough to run into an estate sale, watch out-- discoveries beyond belief!

north buffalo as a whole

North Buffalo is one of the better parts of the city. Its commercial districts are filled with shoppes, restaurants, and bars. North Buffalo as a whole includes Riverside, Black Rock, University Heights, Filmore Leroy, Kensington Bailey, Hertel, and Parkside areas. Some of its parks include Riverside, Delaware and McCarthy park.

Hertel avenue
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/14/05
Hertel avenue is pretty nice, especially if you like to shop for antiques. There are a lot of privately owned businesses (stores and restaurants). It is a nice place to take a quiet and relaxing walk.
In July, there is the Italian festival right on Hertel avenue. It is small, but worth going to.
