Loved it all. Followed directions given online and went straight to the Coast Guard Base. There is a locked gate but buzz and ask to see the lighthouse. You must have ID, and must be escorted onto and around the base. Pictures are allowed, however, you cannot take pictures on the way in nor toward the base/buildings. Not a problem for lighthouse ...
