I thought it was realaxing and peaceful. The intercoastal was ten feet away and the beach was with walking distance. We slept on the beach and watched the sunrise it was awesome. The only down part about it was the bathrooms which were really dirty.Other than that i gve it four out of five stars.
The place is beautiful.... but if you are camping there the bathrooms are disgusting!!!! The showers are nasty and there is no electric hook ups. I will never camp there again unless they spend some of the money they are making to hire a cleaning crew to take care of the bathrooms and showers and they have to have hookups.. other than that we had a wonderful week camping and watching the sunrise.. :)
This beach was perfect, $3 to get in was a bargain, we're from KC and have a friend that lives down there who took it and it was a blast. We drove a sporty set low convertible onto the sand w/o a problem. Even though it was chilly out they're was still plenty to do. Highly reccommend.
its very clean tropical beach feeling, water is always clean, and drive up and park on the beach is the best part. it went from 50 cents a person to 3.00 a car.so if you go with a bunch of people its cool.but now just 1 or 2 people it lost that cool factor a little bit
It's hard to find a beach this nice this close to the city. And, you can drive your car on the beach to find your perfect spot. We live in Jacksonville and this is a great day-trip destination. They also have camping. To see some pictures of Huguenot and other local parks in Jacksonville, watch the Jacksonville, FL Great Outdoors video at http://www.madcowmemories.com/resources.html
My family and I love Huguenot. We go there as much as possible. The sand is always perfect for playin or layin out and the water has never let us down! It's clean and blue. It's simply the best get-a-way ever!
The huge expanse of white sand and clean, salt water!!! There are no official designated areas, yet fishermen, boaters, swimmers, surfers, jet skiers, sunbathers, campers, girl watchers, guy watchers, wind surfers, kite surfers, kite flyers and sand-castle makers all have room to find that perfect spot for their particular activities. You can ...

This park is fantastic... it's not hyper-managed or overly landscaped (as in many state and national parks). It's in the true spirt of the parks as they used to be... meeting places, places to hang out and relax, enjoy life, meet other campers. I wouldn't recommend it for camper and mobile home campers... all the A/Cs and generators ...
