Hanna Park has both the ocean and a fresh water lake. You can also take you dog for a walk on the beach. There aren't too many places remaining where you can do that. There is a large picnic area, jungle gym, paddle boats, camping, paved and off-road biking. We spend a lot of time in the outdoors and camping. My kids love Hanna Park. You ...
The first thing that annoyed me about this place was that it's rules list wasn't posted anywhere online. I threw away the list of rules bit I'll add the ones I remember.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/08
the people in the office act like they are the only campe ground in north fla. wanting our money and the camp host are lazy the bath house is way to nasty to have so many camp host! but what should i be thinking a park owned by the city of jacksonville go figure i will stay in georgia state parks from now. on this is really over priced it is like staying in a holiday inn or an rat hole.
Forgot to mention on Friday, July 11th around noon my sister and I walked into the camp store at Hannah Park. A guy with dark bushy hair was on the phone. We checked out the bikes, inspected them, and wanted to rent two. We stood in front of the man and he continued to talk on the phone for about 5 minutes, never acknowledging us. My sister ...
When we called to make reservations it took 2 days to get through - constant busy signal. The day we were coming in I called about 100 times from cell phone while on the way to confirm various details - BUSY SIGNAL entire time - I have cell phone records I feel like sending to the CITY of Jacksonville. At the entrance is a "gentleman's ...

Hanna Park
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/08
Just got back from our camping trip in Hanna Park and Unlike most of the other reviews my family and I found all the staff very helpful and very friendy. The girl at the boat rentals was fantastic and even helped us save a little money. When I made the reservation I asked for a spot with a little privacy and they said no problem. We had zero neighbors on either side or in front of us... Great trip, great people, zero problems :)
My family and I camped Fourth of July 2008 here. We were worried because the last two times we camped there we were in tight sights but, this time we had a great sight. We will request this sight from now on. My teenagers had a blast @ the beautiful beach. We have always camped Anastasia but is has gotten to the point were you cant get in there ...

Flys are Terrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/08
We have been to Hanna Park several times but this June 08 trip was terrible. The Flys were terrible, The trash bins were full of flys and running into the street. The bath houses were nasty as they have always been in recent years. The rates are a little high, they should take pride as this is a beautiful setting and could be very nice.

Kids cant wait to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/27/08
I took my 5 kids and husband camping Easter weekend and we all had a blast, no problems with staff or bathrooms. The only gripe I had was Sunday at 6am the campsite across from us left in a deisel, but I managed to go back to sleep. Donna H.
Been camping here since 1993. Still keep coming back. Yeah, the staff are rather uptite, DONT CHECK OUT 15 MINUTES late.. You will pay $10.17 (never mind my wife is handicapped and i had to pack up the site myself) Oh.. and be sure the host camper was there at high noon to tell me to stop at the front prior to leaving... There are other campgrounds, and a few I like better, but I still keep coming back.
