Found a bird that was bleeding with a really badly broken wing and she told me to drive 15 mins the next day to drop the bird off... I would expect her to come and get it but w.e.

OVERALL
BEAKS HELPS BIRDS!

I haven't been to the sancuary yet, but I found a duck that had a blow dart through his neck. I was twenty miles away from BEAKS. That same day, they sent someone to pick it up. I really appreciated that. And so did the duck. He lived. I love knowing that someone cares so much about our feathered friends.

Birds Get Injured Afterhours

The idea of this place and knowing it exists is helpful, but when the answering machine says 'sorry we can't help you at this time' and doesn't give a reference of where one can get help for an injured wild bird, it is very disappointing.

B.E.A.K.S. offers a unique experience to see how humans can have both positive and negative influences on wild birds. Many of the birds cared for at B.E.A.K.S. have been injured because of their proximity to urban development. Some are injured by oil spills, some have been shot, some entangled in fishing nets. BEAKS has a baby bird "shower" each Mother's Day and people are invited to bring gifts such as bird seed, etc. My sons and I would go every Mother's Day, it was a special time. Since losing our youngest son 1 1/2 yrs ago at the age of 15, the memories of watching him feeding baby birds with an eye dropper are even more priceless. ...
